Kydias aus dem Demos Halimous stellte den Antrag: Da der Bund derAitoler, seine Frömmigkeit gegenüber den Göttern unter Beweis stellend,beschlossen hat, die Festspiele der Soterien einzurichten fürZeus den Retter und Apollo Pythios zur Erinnerungan die erfolgte Schlacht gegen die Barbaren, die zuFelde gezogen waren gegen die Griechen und das Heiligtum des Apollon,das gemeinsame (Heiligtum aller) Griechen, (und) gegen die auch (unser) Volkausgesandt hat die Spezialtruppen und die Reiter als Mitkämpferfür die gemeinsame Rettung; und hierüber derBund der Aitoler und der General Charixenos eine Gesandtschaftausgeschickt haben zu dem Volk, die (mit uns) Gespräche führen sollte, damitdas Volk diese Festspiele billige, und zwar die musischen imRange wie die Pythien, die sportlichen und hippischen im Range wie die Nemeen,sowohl in den Altersklassen als auch den Preisen - - -- - -
